Brett is the co-founder of the Luka Shai Foundation, and co-creator of the inspiring Luka Shai, who was diagnosed with APT6AP2 at 2 months of age, and older brother Max. Besides being clinically in charge of Luka’s day to day, she assists with the daily management of the foundation.

Helsham had a worldly childhood–before attending NYU, living in far- flung locales including Hong Kong, Michigan, Ohio, South Korea, Belgium, Italy and New York City. After a BFA from NYU and an MFA from the New York School of Interior Design, she worked for high end interior designer Jon Call and then Wettling Architects before starting her namesake interior design studio in 2014, now working in residential, hospitality, retail and commercial design internationally. An interior designer unbound by the rules of a rigid aesthetic, Brett Helsham’s work is unfussy, beautiful and effortlessly cool. Her projects often play on the juxtaposition between calm, classic choices for furniture and lively accessorizing.
